So it’s been a while since we updated our main site, now known as SeveredReceptors.TK!

We changed our name, and we’re now a full band! We would like to welcome Ryan Neeland (bass), Ian Durand (guitars), Jaron Elton (guitars), and Mike Mistretta (drums). The upcoming EP, self-titled Severed Recptors, is due to be released on May 27th, and will be mixed by Uraeus at Mindhive Studio in Racine, WI, and mastered by Ken Sorceron of Abigail Williams.

Severed Receptors will be released on Depressive Illusions (CD), and Tridroid Records (cassette, possibly vinyl). Check out the album art!

New EP Album Update 9/23/13

We’re entering the last quarter of the year, and things are wrapping up nicely for us…

We have 5 songs done instrumentally, but lyrics and vocals are yet to be completed. We are in the midst of trying to get some session drumming done by a real drummer–hopefully it all turns out how we want it. If not, we still have other great options!

The EP is turning out awesome, and is definitely a more “aggressive” album compared to Dreams of Dystopia. More really awesome news to come in the near future, but until then, here’s a short teaser from the new EP!

Dreams of Dystopia EP and “The Escape of the Dead”–Now Free to Download!

As of today, both the EP album, Dreams of Dystopia, and the online single, “The Escape of the Dead” are available to download, free of charge! Click the picture below, and you’ll be brought to a page where you can download whatever songs you want…

2013: Past, Present, and Future.

Last year, right at the very end, we released our first 5-track EP,, Dreams of Dystopia. We’ll be honest, some people liked it, some people hated it. That’s just how it goes sometimes. Despite the mixed reviews we received, we still feel we were very true to ourselves when we wrote the songs and released the EP.

A few months into 2013, we featured guitarist Kevin Sheely on our new track, “The Escape of the Dead.” “The Escape of the Dead” was released as a still-video on Youtube, and also on three separate compilation albums. Dreams of Dystopia and TEOTD helped us solidify ourselves as a band, and also helped us figure out where we’re going in the future.

Let’s quickly touch on what we’re currently doing… The summer in Phoenix is extremely hot, as you’re probably aware, but progress has not slowed for us. We’ve acquired lots of quality sound equipment in the past few months, and we’re still figuring out what we’ll be doing for live performances. The big news though, is that we’re officially in the middle of the recording stages for a new EP album. The new EP album will be 3-5 tracks in length, and will likely be released near the end of the year, or the beginning of next year.

As for hints on what to expect, I’ll say this: Don’t expect a remake of Dreams of Dystopia. This new EP will show PsychoBliss as a more refined and professional metal band.

“The Escape of the Dead” Still-Video + Another Compilation!

Previously, we informed you that our new “single”, The Escape of the Dead would be on the upcoming black metal compilation by Tridroid Records. In addition to that great news, we’d like to inform you that the same track will also be featured on an upcoming metal compilation put together by IFLHM.com (I Fucking Love Heavy Metal on Facebook) tentatively titled Best of the Underground Vol. 1!

We’ve decided that prior to these releases we would independently release a “still-video” on Youtube for The Escape of the Dead. If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s your chance! We’re extremely proud of it, and we’re glad Kevin Sheely could be a part of it!

Catching Up…So Much News!

So, first off, our debut EP “Dreams of Dystopia” has been quite successful so far. We especially love that, because the whole thing was recorded at home, and we haven’t even had the chance to play the songs live yet! Reviews were mixed, with some being very negative, some very positive, and a few right in the middle. At any rate, we’re glad we have people listening to our first official recordings.

Speaking of new recordings though, we have a brand new track that we’re working on right now! This new track is called “The Escape of the Dead”, and will be featured on the Tridroid Records Black Metal Compilation (official title TBA). PsychoBliss will be amongst some of the best up and coming black metal bands in the world! We have a feeling we’re going to stick out on this compilation, if that’s any hint of what to expect… Plus, keep an eye out for a “Still” music video on YouTube that will accompany “The Escape of the Dead”.

Not stopping there though, we’ve also announced a new member of PsychoBliss; Kevin Sheely! Kevin Sheely will be lending his lead guitar skills to “Escape of the Dead” as well! This song is going to be the best example of our musicianship and production so far, so don’t miss it!

Purchasing our Debut EP, “Dreams of Dystopia”

Alright, so here’s everything you need to know about buying our album

If you don’t know already, our debut EP (extended play) album is called Dreams of Dystopia, and is 5 tracks in length. This is our first official release, but Kyla and I feel we did a great job on it! It’s a very moving album, both musically and lyrically speaking. Dreams of Dystopia captures “Gothic/Dark Metal” in a way we feel is very refreshing.

  • It’s available online–basically everywhere, and should cost about $5 no matter where you get it. The two big websites that will have it for sure are Amazon.com, and CDBaby.com. iTunes should also have it available…
  • The other option we have for you is a little more “unique”. It’s a limited release (100 copies) on cassette, all made possible thanks to Tridroid Records. Yes, it will be on cassette. It’s all done very professionally, so even if you never want to listen to it, it’s still going to be very collectable. The cassette copy will also only be $5.
  • ALSO, if you purchase the cassette copy through US (on Facebook, email, etc), we will throw in the MP3’s for free through your email! That way you can make your own CD or whatever you want.
